WHy not bake edible christmas tree decoration?
These orange spritz Biscuits (“Orangen-Spritzgebäck”) are perfect for the tree or to nibble while decorating the tree. Whatever you like best :-)..
Ingredients:
200 g (7 oz.) soft butter
100 g (3,5 oz.) icing sugar
2 tsp vanilla sugar or vanilla extract
3 egg yolks
1 EL apple juice
300 g (10 oz.) flour
orangepeel of 1 orange
+ ca.100 g (3,5 oz.) chocolate

Mix the butter with the sugar, vanilla, egg yolks, apple juice and orange peel.
Add the flour and knead the dough til it is smooth.
Use a piping nozzle to create dough rings, bars or other kind of forms you like on the wax paper of your baking sheet.
I have tried many different recipes for spritz biscuits so far and I often found that the dough was way too solid to press through the piping nozzle. So my KitchenAid was always a great help. BUT this dough recipe surprised me. The dough was soft and tender and I a pipping nozzle wouldn´t have been a problem at all this time.

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven at 350°F for 10-12 minutes.
After they are cooled down you can coat them with melted chocolated if you like.
